22 02 2008So my fear is right. The damn bastards overpayed me. What is up with that. They give me a bonus, which led me to believe they respect me as an employee and that I am a valued asset to their company, and what happens? The next day I get a memo stating they overpayed me and that they will be taking it off my next pay. WellI tell you, that certainly makes me want to continue working there!
Anyways, today I went to the theatre and watched Untraceable. It is a pretty good movie, but predictable in a way, and for some reason it seemed like it went too fast for a movie that is an hour and forty minutes. I didn’t find that there was enough suspense or character building, but it was a good flick non-the-less, but one that I wouldn’t watch again.
I have to work the next six days in a row and I know I’m going to be rotted in between the week, but I know I have the week-end off to look forward to. I’ve been sitting at Tim Horton’s for quite some time now. It seems to be a new routine for me. I suppose it beats being at home in a dark quiet environment in my room, with nothing to really do. Tonight I tried a hot chocolate with a mint tea bag in it. Mmmm, it is good, tastes like after 8 chocolates. I think it is going to be my new addiction.
Tomorrow, or should I say tonight, is Kristina’s birthday party. i don’t know if I will be going since I will be working. But there is a smiling girl sitting across from me and it’s distracting me. So I will end this now. and now she l leaving beacuse I told her what I was writing. There is this crack whore and her crack whore boyfriend sitting by the pizza that we ordered and she looked in it and her crack whore boyfriend tried to steal our pizza. They are maggots with no life and no money.

WooHoo!
20 02 2008It’s 3:00 am, I’m watching the new Knight Rider and logging into Convergys web portal to view my paystub left me with a big suprise! I got, yet another bonus, and I hope it was not a mistake. I don’t know what it is for, but it’s enough to keep me working there! I swear to God, I love Convergys. For those who say there is no motivation, think again. As you can see, and with the proof to show it, you have to give to recieve. If you pull your weight at Convergys, which is not by far a difficult task, you will be rewarded. I don’t think I have worked in a better establishment than I am now. I can not stress more than I have in previous posts, how easy it is to work at Convergys. What can be better than sitting in a cubicle in a team environment with new and existing friends, providing a social environment, taking calls to trouble shoot customers issues with the internet? That in itself offers it’s own benifits. Lately, what I have been doing was playing around with my camera that I purchased. It seems to be adequate for my aspirations to see if my passion is true to explore photography more than I have. If it’s something I feel I may want to continue, then I can pull out the cash for a more expensive dSLR camera. Images, of course, can be found on my facebook. I am starting to experiment with HDR imaging, but for some reason cannot reproduce the results that I have seen throughout the internet. I still havn’t decided if I am going to have my own website, for the fact that I will need the time to re-learn old code and new code, find a webhost, and of course, decide on the content of the site that would be updated on a constant bases. There’s nothing like a website that has content that is never updated. Well I suppose that will be all for now. later.

15 02 2008Say wah? Listen, I don’t really know. So today I went to work, feeling well, not really all there. My laptop display has some sort of discolorment on it… I want to take it into future shop and have the laptop replaced, but then i’d be without a laptop! What am I to do!! I really should return it. .. back to the story… despite feeling the way I did at work, I took my calls as I would always do, most of the calls I received where not all that great, but for some reason, they turned out great…. how the heck is that? I don’t know but mad pissed off people started laughing and we started having a good time even though their damn internet wasn’t working and the teck totally fucked everything up while installing the damn thing. Because of this mood I seemed to have got them in, they really didn’t give a rats ass that a tech wouldn’t be able to come out until saturday, or that I couldn’t schedule a tech because dispatch wasn’t giving me any dates… ulite sent bye bye. It was awesome. I haven’t a clue why the calls went the way they did, but I was suprised and loved every minute of it. The night before wasn’t that great. It was almost the complete opposite but only because my own damn team, floor support was giving the the run around because I needed to know how to change a leased modem to an owned modem in Comtrac. They kept telling me that the customer had to be directed to retentions! Like where the fuck did that come from.. just WHO are these floor support team mates? I knew better than that. It was not and never will be a rententions issue if a person wants to swap out a gateway for their own modem why? BECAUSE THERE IS NO FUCKING CHANGE IN SERVICE! I change such codes in ACSR all the time, but I was never fully trained with Comtrac.. so because I was being given the run-around from my own team-mates, I had to figure it out myself which rotted me. Never-the-less I figured it out, changed the damn codes WITHOUT going to rententions .. (retards) and went to get the customers modem added… done! see. No fucking retentions… tards! Today I had almost a similar experience, only this time the person wanted a modem add, who btw, was working on this issue since yesturday. All the poor guy wanted was to get rid of the gateway (which are shitty devices in themeselves) and have the ethernet port on the EMTA enabled. Why was this so difficult for the agents??? No offence Josi. I don’t blame her at all because we have to go through levels just to get the damn thing added. So off I went, to my suprise, I was able to remove CHN codes, and add CHSI codes, disable the gateway, enable the ethernet on the EMTA and off for a push! holy cow! seriously, even the most teniered agent doesn’t have that much access! What is normal is to phone down to sales, and have them do all the work! Now the only other thing I would like is my own push rites and of course, the ability to modify packages and discount codes. I really did love tonight. One thing I did notice was that game… that damn addictive game.. a game or a quiz. Whatever you want to call it. This thing spread throughout Home Networking like a virus. Everywhere I looked, I saw agents in our project playing it! You really should try it! I am waiting for the day that the Operations manager walks up and down the rows and catches everyone on it and we all get capped! lol. man I love Convergys. Well, s04e03 of lost has finished downloading, so I’m going off to watch that….Com’n Michelle, catch up will ya! your missing out! lol.

Ph-Ph-Photography
10 02 2008
I must say, it’s been several years since I picked up a camera and for the past month or so, photography started to peak my interest again. On Friday after walking around the mall for the longest of time, and after getting my eyebrows waxed, I decided to buy myself a digital camera. I always held off on digital cameras because I know how bad some of them are, and I know that the same images taken with regular SLR’s may be difficult to achieve with a digital camera, if they could even be reproduced easily to begin with. Well, the camera I wanted was a Sony Alpha at over 1000.00 and since that was a little too pricey for me at the time, I decided to get a Sony Cybershot DSC-H3.
I was hesitant at purchasing it, because I didn’t know what I would be getting. The price tag on this was around 289.00 and of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a memory stick, so I purchased a 1gb card to go with it. When the initial long charge of the battery was complete, I took it out and started to have a little fun with it. Without much thought put into the content of the photos, I aimlessly took shots at whatever I could find so that I could get a feel for it. After using it for a while, I started to fall in love with it. You see, I purchased this as a temporary camera to work my way up to the Sony Alpha dSLR. You can see here, just some of the photos I took. BTW, this thing has great stock macro capabilities.

Week-end updates.. a little late
7 02 2008Well sorry ’bout that, but I’ve been locked out of my house for the weekend up until Tuesday evening.. or should I say Wednesday (technically). Yea, I lost my keys on some time between Friday evening and Saturday evening. I have no clue where they would have gone. I backtracked to every place I was with no sign of the key’s. However, despite missing the comfort of my own home, my good friend R.N Wagner let me stay at his place until I was able to get back into the house. My room mate was gone for the entire week end, and I had no way of contacting her. I also didn’t have the phone number to call the landlord who still needs her rent money. However, I am home now and it’s good to be back.
On Saturday R.N and I went to Turner’s Tavern for Battle of the Fans which turned out to be a great night. There were only four bands playing, but it was a nice time. I have photo’s up in facebook, but capturing only two of the bands, since R.N’s batteries to his camera were drained…only much later realizing that he had a whole pack of new batteries.. sorry R.N a day late on that.
There was more that I wanted to write about, but forgot. Oh yea, some old friends are starting to come back into the picture, which I hope is a good thing. Sometimes I wish some other specific friends would get their head into gear and come back as well. I reckon that some of them are not doing as good as they should be and I hope for the best for them.
It’s almost pay day, a lot less on my cheque compared to the past couple of cheque’s that I received, and I really should spend that money on something. I don’t know what though, but it has to be from Futureshop!
I may start looking at a video camera so that R.N and I can start making some videos of the Battle of the Fans and such. There is also a plan to have a video camera put up in Turners and create a web site that would integrate streaming webcam shows so that those people who can’t make it to Turners, or if Turner’s is just plain full which it has been lately, then they can jump over to their web site and catch the show in the comfort of their house. I will tell you though, that Turners is coming a long way from where it used to be. All the best for them.

Saturday Evening in the haze
2 02 2008I took myself downtown St. John’s this evening to get out of the house so that I would not sleep all day.
I stepped into a nearly full coffee house and bought myself a nice coffee which set me back 4.50. Definatly not worth it, but tasted great. Hava Java has a nice atmosphere, but the prices are very steep compared to what can be purchased for 80% less on the same strip. What I like about it though is that no one bothers me. I can walk in, set up my laptop and do whatever I like without ordering a thing and no one will think twice to come up to me and ask me if I would lik something or even ask me to leave.
Even though I am out of the house and in a coffee shop, I still feel this laziness through out my blood which makes me want to stay sitting here at the table and not move a muscle. It’s probably because there is nothing to do downtown, especially in the winter. I may take a walk to Turners Tavern to see if Aaron is working the door there. Tonight is Battle of the Fans, which is just Battle of the Bands, with a different name.
When I first stepped foot in Turners it was dark, gloomy and uninteresting. The environment was filled with only the employee’s who work there and maybe 1 or two guests. Over the months, however, it seemed to have picked up business by being a sudo entertainment club. They now hold open mic, poetry and now battle of the fans. It’s amazing how busy a place can get when a little effort is applied to promotion. Winter to most businesses are a downfall and every winter, stores and resturants close down because they just cannot generate enough revenue to stay open and those which remain open, loose money because the business is not there to support it and the owners end up taking the money out of their pocket just to make it through the season.
Tomorrow, I don’t have any plans and I will probably wake up at 4pm as usual, even though I would like to start getting up a lot earlier so I can occupy myself instead of sleeping all day.
Not much is happening in my life, and it’s something that I havn’t been focusing on too much because well, that’s just who I am; a person with no ambitions and no plans for the future. I live day by day, and this season it is much better than the last. The past two pay cheques I recieved from work were excellent. Working the holiday really helped and the last pay, they gave me a bonus for what they call Quality+, which basically means I am an asset to the company. On each of those two cheques, I cleared a little over a grand, of course, before taxes, but the gross was just as good topping in at around 980 dollars or so. This next cheque, it is said that we will be getting a christmas bonus, but I am not confident it will happen.
I suppose that would be all for now. I will update some time when I get around to doing it.
have fun and stay strong.
